Almost every woman experiences a pimple at some stage in her life. Be it her teens, premenstrual time, or even in the forties nearing menopause. The secret of keeping the skin clear is to keep it oil free and clean.
To do this one has to give oneself deep cleansing treatments. Increase your water intake to double and go on a raw foods or an oil free diet for about a week. Wipe the face with ice cubes of rose water or keep a camphor and mint tonic ( 1 litre of distilled water, 1 teaspoon powdered camphor, 2 teaspoons mint paste, all mixed together and kept in a bottle in the sunlight for 7 days) handy and wipe the skin several times a day. This tonic should be stored in the fridge. Never squeeze the pimples for the condition will only worsen and lead to life long marks. A regular lifestyle and plenty of water intake are also two very important factors that help keep pimples and spots at bay.
Open Pores :
We have received so many Emails about certain “Holes” in the skin. Everyone has holes in their skin but please do not make them sound like some sort of craters. Open pores, as these ‘Holes’ are usually called, always appear more on greasy or coarse skins and are basically enlarged pores. These pores become enlarged due to the excessive oil secretion and lack of tightening masks that both clean and absorb excess moisture.
Using an antiseptic face wash or tonic which has been refrigerated will help to reduce oilness. You can mash 1 banana and apply the pulp on the face for 20 minutes and then wash off or you can rub tomato halves on the face and let the skin soak up its juices. Another effective face pack can be made by refrigerating 4-5 pieces of papaya for 20 minutes, mashing the pieces and applying them to the face for 15 minutes and then washing it off. Banana, tomato and papaya are also known to have a cleansing and tightening effect on the skin.
Keep one ice tray filled with rose water and use these fabulous rose water ice cubes to keep your skin toned and tightened. Natural clay packs of 4 teaspoons fullers earth and juice of 1 lemon are also excellent for women who suffer from this particular problem.

Dark circles can be treated with regular and gentle care. Massage the area with pure almond oil and apply cold raw grated potato mixed with the juice of ½ lemon around the eye area. Leave on for about 20 minutes and wash off with cold milk. Slices of cool cucumber are also very good as they not only soothe tired eyes but also have a natural bleaching effect on the area.
